Announcing a new website – for all your adventures in yoga

Yoga School Dropout was about my yoga school adventures in India – my search for mystic Indians, Tantric bliss, a pretzel like body and, um, a man.

One of the great joys of being published has been getting emails from yogis who wanted to share their yoga adventures with me.

These mails gave me the idea for a website where we can share our adventures in yoga – on and off the yoga mat.

It will be a place to update the Yoga School Dropout trail, a place to detail your own yoga trail, to recommend teachers and destinations, to comment on other yogis’ posts, to blog and post photos of our adventures in yoga

…from a trip to India to trying a new neighbourhood yoga class…

…from the people you met on a yoga holiday to how yoga has affected your relationships…

…from the way your yoga practice inspired a new project to reinventing yourself in an all too familiar job…

Think of it as Facebook meets Tripadvisor – a social place to share yoga recommendations and to connect with your yoga friends.

So, if you would like to be a founding Dropout please sign up below and start telling everyone about your yogic adventures. When the site is ready we will migrate your posts to the new website…

What a fantastic idea! YSD inspired my own journey a lot and as soon as I read it the synchronicities started! I would stalk the yoga pages of your website, dreaming of quitting my job and running away to the ashram. It was on your website that I found my life coach. Working with her got me moving and, six months later, I did indeed quit my job and ran off to Bali (who was I kidding with the Ashram thing!) to do my yoga teacher training. I’m now teaching yoga, writing and training to be a photographer so that I can teach yoga and creative photography retreats! Yay for YSD!

This is a fantastic idea. Yoga has become a huge part of my life. My practice has been on the whole learnt from DVDs and books, well apart from an amazing two weeks of practice in Goa this year. It would be wonderful to link with fellow yogis. Yoga has helped me get some balance in a busy life, it has changed my whole outlook on life.

    Hello there,

I’m a new yoga blogger, well, blogging about life, yoga and etc. at http://cie-change.com I am currently in yoga teacher training. I found yoga after my husband passed away and it has helped me get back to life. I would love to contribute to your new website/blog. Haven’t done any yoga traveling yet but sure would love to!

Cathy – I am so sorry to hear about your husband passing away. I am glad that you have found yoga – I always get on my mat when I am in emotional trouble – its my safe space.
Have you read Stephen Cope’s Yoga and the Quest for True Self – absoulutely brilliant book which includes a lot of stories from people who came to yoga through their troubles. If you havent read it you might find it helpful.
I look forward to seeing you on my new website. Lucy xx

I just read an exert of YSD .
I have 2 Yoga blogs about life in Paris & my Yogic adventures.
I dream of running away to an ashram for a month or 2 to once again reconnect.
However I will just have to wait, at least until my baby has stopped breast feeding. Being the mother of 2 little ones, running my own Yoga business, learning French ,finding the time to embody ‘the perfect modern day woman’ ahhh – well to be honest the closest I get to taking time out & revelling in true bliss is whilst I’m teaching Yoga or sipping my morning cup of coffee.
I will buy YSD I already know that I will love it.

    • Lucy Edge Says:

Thank you Melanie – you certianly sound as if you have your hands full. I imagine you reading YSD, breastfeeding your baby with another child on your lap, sipping a delicious cup of French coffee whilst planning your next class. Men dont know the meaning of multi-tasking!
We must make sure your classes and blogs are on my site when we launch – thank you for being in touch.
Om shanti and all that. Lucy xx
